    Hi,

I have a problem with an avi file: the audio and video don't match.
I've searched and used the guide on the sticky here, buy I still have some problems.

At the beginning of the movie the audio and video come at the same time (after I've already
set a delay), but they don't stay like this... After like 2 minutes, the audio comes before the
video... BUT in the end of the movie the video and audio work fine again.

What can I do? It works fine at the beginning, ruins in the middle, and the works fine again in the end.

    Thanks.

  2. This is difficult to solve.

One way I've solved something similar is to cut the video into pieces where the points that the sync issues occur or fix.

The way you have described it you should have 3 pieces, a,b,c. The 1st piece a, and last piece c should be in sync. The middle piece, b, needs to be treated as if was a separate out of sync video. Usually it's the case where either the video or audio is longer than the other. So you need to stretch or shorten either the video or audio to match. The other possibility is that a "glitch" caused it, and you can cut that part out. Then you can re-join the pieces

    Thanks for your reply.
I don't really know when the video and the audio sync issues occur, because
a minute after the I play the movie, the audio and video don't match, so I don't know where the sync problem begins nor where it ends.

By the way, I've checked the length of the audio and it does shorter than the video's length. If I cut it, will the problem be fixed ?

  4. The way you've described the file, if you don't process it in 3 separate segments, even if you matched the lengths it would be insync at the beginning and end, but out of sync at the middle.

You can try it processing it in 1 piece, here is a simple guide here http://www.gromkov.com/faq/faq2004-0064.html , the 2nd progressively worsening scenario is what you want to try. What I suggested earlier is cutting into 3 pieces, and then processing the middle piece by something like that guide's 2nd scenario. (or stretching/shrinking the audio)

I can't tell if it will be fixed just by cutting without examining and testing it myself.
