  1. Ok, I converted DVD-to-XVCD using the rip-dvd2avi-tmpgenc method like I always have. It was a 75-minute movie that I want to fit onto one cd, so I converted at 1150 bitrate, but I bumped the resolution to 720x480. The resulting mpg was 845mb, too big to fit onto one cd. Then, I did something strange. I ran it thru Tmpgenc mpeg-tools, loaded the mpg as if I was going to cut/join it but I didnt actually cut anything out, processed it and the final mpg is now like 765mb... perfect for one cd. BUT, my problem is, the final mpg file is slightly out-of-sync (audio), otherwise it looks the same. The original mpg seemed to be in perfect sync. So, I'm trying to figure out how it got out of sync, plus understand how the file got reduced by 80mb with nothing cut out. If it matters, the file was originally converted using CQ_VBR=1150, and when I ran mpeg-tools I used the VCD-nonstandard setting. Can anyone tell me an easy way to fix this?

is it out of sync at a constant length(ie its 1/2 a sceond ahead/behind at start and 1/2 ahead/behind at end) or is it progressive (ie it starts with no sync problems and gradually gets more and more out of sync)?

  4. I believe it is consistant (I'm at work now so I can't verify). It is VERY slight, like probably a few frames, but it is noticible. FYI, it is a Disney animated movie if that helps. It's just weird that the original encoded mpeg was perfect, I just cannot figure out exactly what the 'cut' did that shrunk it and threw it off. But at this point I'm more concerned about fixing it. Thanks.
