    Hello there,

A friend gave me this machine, it has some wonderful features but I need to see programs from Australia NZ & UK

Help wanted - I cannot get my machine which is 2004 model (up-converted) to register the repeat code to key in
the numbers to reset for region free ( must be set for region 1)

It will only register repeat on screen when disc is playing - so can't key numbers
have followed instruction for some similar samsung models to make them region 9 (or free) as the only posts listed for my machine expired in 2oo4 - dead links for download

Does anyone have suggestions or place I can get disc to help re-program to region free?

    regards HooRoo

Not all models can be made region free. It appears that yours is one that cannot, unless some other poster has a solution for you. I saw a few references to your player needing a hardware mod to be able to be region free. That's bad. It would be cheaper to just buy a new player than to go to the expense of modding the hardware. I tried that once and bricked my player. I don't recommend it, but then again I'm no soldering expert.

Oppo (http://www.oppodigitial.com) makes some pricey players, but we know that they can still be put into multi-region mode. Philips used to make a variety of players that could do that, but recent posts suggest that Philips is cracking down on this and few of their current players (it seems) can be made region free. Sorry.

Region 0 is region free, not region 9 (if region 9 even exists).
