  2. I had this same problem with one of my conversions using TMPGEnc. I don't know how to fix it either. I might just try a different encoder or something, will Nero work?

  3. From reading the post.. they said not to use Nero for encoding so i havent tried it with Nero yet..

  4. in tmpgenc, go to option, evironmental settings, then to the general tab.
it is defaulted to a temp file, try clearing out either the temp file or the file that is used as the temp directory.

  5. I tried clearing out the temp file, but I still get the floating decimal point error. This is the first cd of three for Brotherhood of the Wolf. The second and third CD's are fine; I guess its just a bad file or something.

I think you mean floating point error, a fix that works about 99% of the time for me is to do a direct stream copy in vdub, make sure you select huffyuv and have the room to do it, you get the error because of to many corrupt frames in your avi, I'm sure it is a file you downloaded, right? A very common problem with them. a direct stream copy usually fixes any broken frames and keeps the audio in sync

and I forgot to add, after doing the direct stream copy, then delete the original, or keep it if you want, but encode the copy you created.

I'm getting the same problem with a few MPG files I downloaded where it plays in Windows Media Player just fine and appears to be VCD specs already but Nero doesn't like it when it does the check and or my DVD player won't play it. I can't fix the MPG file because both Virtualdub and TMPEGnc gives me this floating point error or invalid (will have to post from home) but basically I end up with files I can't watch on my DVD player but can on my computer.
