Maybe. It's re-encoding all the AVI to MPEG for DVD.

OK. My computer is faulty (hardware related) and has a few issues, running slow etc so I wanted to be sure.

    Thanks for the fast reply.

What is TDA3 like as an encoder may I ask? Quality wise?
Quality over time for me. Which is the best encoder for quality?
I've used FAVC in the past but needed a slightly more advanced menu this time which is why I'm giving TDA3 a go. I could of course encode with FAVC and create a menu with TDA3 but wanted to give it a go.

I've also been looking at DVD-lab for menu creation too.

TMPGEnc has been one of the slower MPEG encoders in the past. Don't know if they fixed that with TDA3. But the quality has always been good. DVD-Lab is probably a better choice for authoring more complex menus.

Most MPEG encoders work about the same way, so no real quality differences. But they do have different settings and those can largely determine speed and can influence quality of the output, depending on which you use. Of course the source video quality is also very important.

  5. TDA3 should support divx authoring without reencoding.
Don't forget to set the project as DivX dvd. You just need a standalone dvd player compatible with divx
