    I recoded a mkv movie usin Automkv (trying to go from 1080p to 720p) and after it finished I got a /temp folder with a lot of files. The one large enough to be the reulting movie is called "movie.264". How do I playe it on MPC?

    You can mux the 264 and audio file to a mkv using mkvmerge. Automkv should do this automatically but maybe something went wrong.

    The easiest way to play .mp4 ,is to use VLC instead...However if you want to play with MPC or WMP,then you'll need to install FFDShow and Haali media Splitter..

    Edit: just noticed the movie.264, maybe try with XviD4PSP,or the suggestion by Baldrick...
