  3. e.g. I have the following subtitles, after opened by subtitle workshop, Line 5,6,7 disappeared, no problem with subtitle creator. I think subtitle workshop treats them as illegal line number and then deleted.

    1
    00:00:54,499 --> 00:00:58,492
    [fireworks exploding]

    2
    00:01:04,609 --> 00:01:06,702
    [crowd clamoring]

    3
    00:01:12,717 --> 00:01:15,083
    [indistinct chatter]

    4
    00:01:17,455 --> 00:01:19,355
    [man] He's in the other room.

    5
    00:01:27,299 --> 00:01:29,961
    1

    6
    00:01:31,002 --> 00:01:33,835
    2

    7
    00:01:34,172 --> 00:01:37,198
    3

    8
    00:01:37,809 --> 00:01:42,075
    - [man] It's a coded message.
    - [Gates] It's a Playfair cipher.

    Yes, same here.

    Work around: put another character at the beginning of the lines, eg:

    6
    00:01:31,002 --> 00:01:33,835
    #2

    After you're done in Subtitle Workshop, open the SRT in a text editor and delete all the # before using it for authoring.
