Slow MKV 1080p Playback!

Hello,

I am trying to play this 1080p mkv file (Ghost in the Shell ^_^) but I cant seem to get smooth playback in VLC Player. Fast forwarding is where I have problems. It either doesn't do anything or the program shuts down. I currently have CCCP installed, and CoreAVC. I would rather use VLC than MPC or any other program. And here are my system specs,

Q6600
eVGA 680i
2x Geforce 8800GT
4GB G.Skill DDR2800
Vista Ultimate x64

So does it play normally or not ?

Your subject implies that it doesn't play at normal speed, but your post complains about not being able to fast forward in VLC.

What is your actual problem ?

FWIW, VLC crashes trying to fast forward or skip sections of FLV files as well. try The KM Player instead.

Try MPC-HC. Install first haali media splitter if you haven't installed it already.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. Will try both players and see where it takes me.
