There isn't one. You should have done your research prior to buying. No BluRay player sold anywhere in the world can be made region free for the whole world at this time. I've only seen a few that had hardware modifications that enabled them to play Zone A & B (but NOT Zone C) BluRay discs and region 1 & 2 DVDs and nothing more and those players cost about $300 US more than the original unmodified model.

Another reason why I'm in no rush to get one.

I have to wonder why this thread exists?

    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-bd-p1400/8779

What am I missing? I would also like to convert a region 1 Canada to all regions as other people seem to be reporting the codes. But has anyone actually had success with the BD-P1400?
JMAN98 what are the mods that you mention? Are these hardware mods?I am seeing code free BD-P1400's listed for $1000 US.

    Thanks for you input.

That thread exists because he DVD playback component can be made region free, and if you read the threads in that post, that is what they all say. They also say that is does not change the bluray playback region restrictions. Interestingly, none of the hacks that work for the rest of the world work on the Region 1 players - perhaps because that is where the MPAA's grip is tightest.

_Polar_ - Hmm... I would think that my statement "hardware modifications" means "hardware mods".

With regards to guns1inger's post, it does seem to me that the MPAA has gotten to just about everybody who sells DVD players in the USA/Canada. We're getting posts all the time from people who bought players that used to be able to be unlocked but no longer can be. Even Philips has changed. About 2-3 years ago, almost every player they sold in the USA could be unlocked. Now we just get posts about various Philips players asking why the unlock instructions don't work anymore.
