I'm trying to convert to mp4 from avi using Sorenson 5. Regardless of settings the audio is out of sync by half a second when played in QT.
Discovered that my original avi files also play out of sync when opened in QT. I rendered to avi (uncompressed, 720x576) using Sony Vegas.
Presumably it's a problem with the original avi files - any suggestions?
Cheers, Phil.
P.s. Using QT Pro to convert the avi to mp4 hasn't worked since I switched to Vista (QT no longer picks up audio).

Try another mp4 converter like mpeg streamclip, avidemux, xvid4psp and see if you get similiar problem.

Thanks for the exceptionally fast response Baldrick.
Tried two of those three converters - same issue. Audio starts of very slightly behind and gradually gets worse.
Also been through your guide for creating streaming mp4 using xvid4psp and the resulting mp4 is still out of sync (from an uncompressed avi source). Will it be related to the fact that the avi files themselves are out of sync when opened with QT?
Thanks, Phil.
