Hello everyone. I am trying to convert a MP4 video file that I ripped from You Tube to a WMV. I have tried to use SUPER to do the conversion but it keeps giving me an error. I have already tried to mess with the settings already but still no luck. Does anyone know what settings to enable/disable?

Thanks for responding. I am sorry I haven't gotten back with you. The error message I am receiving is titled "Possible Causes of Encoding Failure". The error goes on about DirectShow Decode, divisible by 16, valid multimedia clip invalid, etc. I also get this error message when trying to convert SWF files.

Try other converters like LJB says or WinFF. If you can't convert directly to wmv convert to avi and then convert the avi to wmv using windows movie maker.

Also note that normally, .swf files aren't really digital video files like AVI/MPEG/etc., and most (regular) video converters won't know what to do with them.

Unless the .swf file is actually an .flv or has an embedded FLV stream, you'll only be able to use methods like video-capturing the screen/window while the .swf is playing. There's some 'swf to avi' software out there, but it's all essentially commercial, so I can't comment on how well they work.

Well, as of right now I got my company (very big and strict) to use SUPER. I will try using QuickMediaConverter for my personal use and maybe I can get them to switch programs. But it probably won't happen. We've had really good luck using Camtasia Studio (using DivX codec) with VLC player to screen capture movies we can't convert.
