Greetings!
I'm new to the world of video editing / video capturing. I just purchased a KWorld DVD Maker (883) PCI capture card. I'm having a bit of trouble getting the drivers correctly installed. One of the things hindering me is that it also installed something called the "Microsoft TV/Video Connection" as a LAN connection. Now my browser wants to use that to connect to the internet. I cannot seem to be able to disable the extra LAN connection, even after uninstalling the KWorld drivers.
Any suggestions on getting rid of this thing so that I can get my machine back? Thanks!

Try disable it under the Device Manager under Network Adapters.

From another site:
The microsoft tv enables streaming broadband tv from the internet.
It requires a broadband connection and uses the existing
connection you already have.
It installs a set of protocols to make it functional, but shouldn't
interfere with your connection unless in use.
I would check your regular network connector settings and make sure they are correct. The MS one should be using a odd IP address like: IP: 0.1.0.4 -
Yeah, its an odd IP all right! I finally figured out that the source of my problems was Windows was loading that odd IP into the DNS, thus overlaying the valid DNS entry. And while Windows won't let me disable (or even uninstall) the extra adapter, it would let me change the TCP/IP properties. My problems went away once I told MS to stop registering the IP in the DNS. The adapter is still there (after many re-boots) but at least it isn't interferring with anything anymore.
