I just started using the regular inkjet printables. do the white inkjet printable last a long time? Do the pictures fade over time? I currently buy the 100 pack for $33 but the Taiyo Yuden Water Shields are $70. Is the extra $37 worth it? Please share your experiences with me. Thank You

These discs have fantastic print quality! Very glossy print, and never smears! I printed about 60 of them for a project, and everyone thought they looked great! I'm using an old Epson R200 with generic ink too. Also using Acoustica CD/DVD Label Maker. I have the print settings at (Diameter: 118, Hole Diameter: 41).

I just started using Watershield discs for DVD-R and CD-R a few months ago and now I don't buy anything else. As far as the often repeated "never smears" statement goes, that may not necessarily be true. My hands sweat somewhat more than normal. Not a lot more than normal, but definitely more than normal. I have to let these discs air dry at least overnight because if I don't and I touch black on them, it will definitely come off on my fingers. However, it's not as bad as the Verbatim inkjet printable discs I was using earlier which even weeks later still have the possibility of the ink coming off on my fingers if they are sweaty at all when I touch them. For normal people they basically don't smear, that I admit, but I can't say that it's impossible for the ink to come off for everyone. The print quality is fantastic and once you start using them you won't go with anything else.

I thought someone did a test and ran them under water for awhile. They said they faded a little but still looked real good.

I have only been using TY WaterShield media for about a year, so I don't have experience of long-term durability . . . but my answer is still decidedly "Yes, they're worth it." The quality of the printed image that I get (with SureThing label software and Epson R300 printer) is far above that for any other disks that I have used -- bright, clear images and text with real visual "pop", and certainly highly durable under normal handling.

Thank You everyone for all for your answers. I decided that I will get the TY Watershields . Can't Wait!
