  1. I am pretty sure people have had this problem but no one has seemed to post any solutions about it, well from what i have read anyways.

Okay I used inverse telecine to remove those excess frames from battle athletes the anime. That worked fine and i saved the project. I then used the vfapi codnv to create a psuedo avi but i had trouble loading the tmpg project. I ran the vfipset.bat before but after i put in the tmpgenc.vfp in the same directory as the vfapi conv progroam i was able to load the tmpg project. It created the psuedo avi but when i load the avi in virtual dub, all i get is a black film in the preview. I am running windows 2000. I know someone else had this problem before but no one has told me how they actually solved. I read on a previous post that the problem solved itself. Does anyone out there have any solutions??

i have posted this message up a few times and haven't had any replies, i'm just hoping that someone will reply who has had a similar problem. Is the film black because IVTC didn't work????? does anyone know?? has it got to do with 24fps refresh rate?? what is going on?? thanks

  2. The problem why the movie was showing black in virtualdub is that i had to reinstall the vfapi codec after i installed the vfapi plugin for tmpgenc. Because i installed the vfapi codec before installed the vfapi plugin it wasn't recognising .tpr projects. I thought after installing the vfapi for tmpgenc it would the vfapi convertor would recognise .tpr projects. This was not the case and i got around this by putting the vfapi plugin for tmpgenc in the same dir as the vfapi convertor. This is not a good idea since the avi files created by vfapi convertor all become black. So basically everytime you install a vfapi plugin for an encoder you have to reinstall the vfapi codec for vfapi convertor. Thanks to all those who read my message

Now my psuedo avi is showing up properly in virtualdub, but i think i have found a bug in the program. Whenever i load up a psuedo avi created from a tmpenc project and i move the slider to preview it, virutaldub always freezes. To get around this, i press play for a few seconds wait until virtual dub plays the movie very slowly, then stop. Now i can move the slider and everything is fine. Has anyone else found this bug in virtualdub???? Has anyone else experienced this problem??? One more thing and that is to do with subtitles. I used Gabest VOBSUB plugin for virtualdub, and the problem i am having is that it only creates subtitles for the first 30 seconds of the show. I am encoding anime. Anyone else run into this problem?? thanks
