So after over two weeks of watching the games in HD I can finally get back to my regular TV schedule (which is a lot less viewing). However I have to admit that the opening and closing ceremonies in these games were one of the most spectacular things I have ever seen. And from what I've heard from friends who went over there for the games they said the hosts were extremely polite and spoke enough English to be helpful. Though I don't always agree with China's politics I have to give it to them for these Games. The facilities were astounding to behold, the venues were clean and well-thought out, the staff was generally happy and helpful, and the ceremonies were a wonder. I tend to agree with some of the commentators that the bar is set very high after Beijing and may not be surpassed for some time to come.

Like I said in the other Olympics thread, I really feel sorry for the British Committee in charge of the next event. They will be compared in each and every step with this one. It will be a tough one.

Well, I don't know about any of you all, but I'm feeling a little depressed in all that the games are over. Its not the same any more

(I was trying to find that chineese commercial, you know, the one where guy sees this beautiful girl and then stumbles over and knocks everything down, and in the end, he meets the girl at the hospital -- cause shes actually a nurse/doctor. anyway. I know I recorded it in one of my hd recordings. Ah, but to find is another long endeavor. oh well. I've got like 15 folders and maybe about 20 HD 1920x1080 mpegs in them. What a mess only to find one small 30 sec clip, and even on my fast pc, its still a bit slow with those, geesh)

I think I recorded that one, vhelp. I love that commercial just on the fact of how much bs is in it (can you tell of my recent bitterness ).

I'll give it a quick-sees later on.. I can't view youtubes anymore because with the new flash driver they require, the videos eat up all my WIN98 HDD space and my system crashes. Even if you look at a video and close down the browser, the HDD space is gone and it does not refresh back to space it took. XP does a much better job at this and at least it gives you back your space -- and right away -- oh well. So, what I do is, just before I'm ready to log off, I sometimes open Netscape and browse it real quickly. But I don't know, that YT might be poor quality. But I'll check it out later maybe. Thanks for seeing what I see in these olympic games. I miss them.

holy smookes, I almost forgot..

did you happen to catch NBC's sneaky trailer peak of the new movie comming out. I forget the name at the moment, but maybe you remember it. I was able to record it without any glitches (crossing fingers) and I am hoping to give that one a workover -- personal stuff.. you know how it goes. They were very sneaky to slip that trailer in during the games. I think it went on for some 3 minutes or so. Well, it was a treat !!

I just hope that they didn't time-expand the crap out of it like do to almost everything these days. I would like to restore it back to 24p
