  1. I get this error after I try to mux a .ass file into an avi with AviSynth. The .ass subtitle uses a custom font should that be the problem? I placed it into the same directory as the .ass, now am I required to add an additional line to the .avs? Here it is how it looks like (the error is caused by line2, tho the video is played successfully under Windows Media Player)

  2. Try DirectShowSource() rather than AviSource(). AviSource() requires VFW decoders. DirectShowSource() will use DirectShow decoders. If you can play the file with WMP you have a DirectShow decoder for the video.
