    I am trying to add subtitles to an avi file and I've read everything I can find here about doing that. It shows that subtitles are being added and after this last attempt media player show the subtitles are there but will not play them. I am doing the PAL -> NTSC conversion but I don't know if this will have an effect or not. If anyone out there has run into this but it's driving me nuts. Any help would be appreciated.

    What are you doing? AVI to DVD ?
    What do you play the dvd with? You might have to manually enable the subtitle and you can't just play the vob files you need a real dvd player software.
