black video when playing back .m2v (premiere CS3)

When I export my premiere CS3 project adobe's mpeg encoder with the mpeg2-DVD setting. I am getting black video during playback in Windows media player. I am also getting black video in encore. I can play the video back in VLC or media player classic, but the media player classic has a lot of artifacts. I want to author a DVD, but can't see the video to find chapter points etc. I am running Vista 64.

You need to find a dvd/mpeg2 codec that works in windows media player/directshow and you will probably see the video in premiere. Maybe try PowerDVD or Windvd if it wont work with free codec packs, ffdshow, etc.

I will try that when I get home. The video plays back with no problems from the premiere timeline. I don't seem to have an issue until I export to adobe's encoder. I also get an error when trying to export directly to encore from premiere.
