When I add some files to my imgburn project they appear in correct order but when I pop the cd into my dvd/divx player they are in a different order. I know the issue that is part of Windows about the first file showing up last but thats not the problem

Shouldn't the files show up in the same order on my player as they do in imgburn or am I missing something? It should be noted that the problem does NOT occur if I burn with Nero...... Also is there a way to rename a file in my imgburn project but keep the file name in Windows, also a feature I am used to in Nero. Thanks.

I can't solve your problem, but honestly you gain nothing at all by burning data discs in ImgBurn. I almost always use Nero for this thing because I feel that it's easier to control the output in Nero. I like ImgBurn and it's all I use for making DVDs, but for data discs and audio CDs, you might as well just use Nero. We tell people to use ImgBurn for making DVDs because Nero does weird things with DVD format video, like compressing BUPs and IFOs into the same sector (legal, but incredibly stupid to do), not honoring layer breaks, and so on. But for data discs, there really is no advantage to using ImgBurn.

Other than not having to install Nero at all, you mean.

(I've never had Nero installed, and burn data DVDs just fine with ImgBurn.)

I always use Imgburn and have no problems, and a lot more spare HDD space.

That said, many Divx players sort based on alphabetical order of the file name, and don't care what order you put them on the disc.

Only way to control this is to do:

    01 Filename.avi
    02 Filename.avi

Or some similar scheme. The OS of the device does whatever it wants.
