    After having spent a painfully long time on getting a x264 .mkv-movie with DD+/EAC3 audio to work without any results I’m asking for your help.

    Someone wrote that this is the way to go (on another movie with DD+, but I’m guessing the same applies to the one I’m trying to fix):

    “Use mkvmerge GUI to extract the EAC3 audio track.

    Use eac3to to convert the EAC3 to regular AC3. You need to use the -libav flag.

    Use mkvmerge to merge the AC3 back into the mkv. Remove the garbage EAC3 while you're at it so it still fits on a DL-DVD.”

    So I thought I’d give it a try. But the only question is how, because I suck at these sort of things. I’m asking for a step by step guide to do as the instructions above.

    I have extracted the audio and tried to convert it to .ac3 but I’m not sure that I’m doing it right. I’m sure this is easy for some of you, so please help me =)

    My steps are as follows:
    Extract contents from mkv with,MKVExtractGui..
    Fire up EAC3to,import DTS audio> choose 640kbit and convert to new ac3 file....
    Start up mkvmerge,load h.264 video,new ac3 audio and create new mkv....

    After some uneducated guessing in eac3to (GUI) and a flawless mkv-merging I now have a working movie. I seemed to have some problem with the syncing, but it seems to have worked it self out in some weird way. Thank you very much.

    I'm actually the one who asked for your help, but my friend skribby already had an account so I asked him to post my question.

    Here's what I did in eac3to;

    (click)

    As I suspected, the syncing didn't work at all. The further the movie went the more unsynchronized the audio became, so it was unwatchable after 15 minutes or so. I'm on the verge to give up on this one and download the DVD-version instead (there's only one HD-release) unless you guys know how to sync the audio.
