    78 rpm?
My biggest complaint with vinyl is that it't just too fragile. The sound quality rocks though.

1 - To be with your parents. You sell your personal freedom for food, sleep, a very nice room and once a year vacations. So, you get stoned or drunk all the time, so not to dare to dream for your future and keep yourself in a teenager mode.

2 - Try to stand on your own, just to find out - the hard way - that everything is already taken by various sons and daughters (of other fathers and mothers, not yours of course...). Then, you get stoned and drunk all the time. At least that way, you don't have to think in general and you became familiar with the fact that you never gonna be like your father but like that foreigner next door, which few years back, served well inside your family, as an example of failure and not to end up.

3 - You migrate (the option that I consider myself those days). Then, you find out, that you are not a good foreigner, because you have a western knowledge of this world and you dare asking for something called "quality of life". You learn that the opportunities rise only on those that don't have this western knowledge education. So, you get stoned and drunk all the time, because you are away from home and you miss it. Also, because you can't accept the fact, that you are not considered a human being with rights any more.

4 - Became an active part of any minority (true, made up or fake) in your own country, and start bombing or terrorize the rest. Sponsored of course, by the "G" Big One with an interest in the area. So, you get stoned and drunk all the time, so not to think what you are doing.

5 - Waiting for this world to became better. Meanwhile, you get stoned and drunk all the time, so the time to pass faster.

6 - Became a male of female prostitute. You get stoned and drunk all the time, because you hate yourself

In case you say "this is off topic" or "politic", I say it is not: You see, the "new" and "better" technology, is strongly focus on the young people, the new consumer generations. The older, already adapted all the technology they can. That why you hear very often things like: DVD is more than OK, the "big flat widescreen" TV I got 6 years ago it is still amazing and Win98SE are enough for my PC needs.

The new generations don't have the money, the space and the time for the new technology. Those that have all that, are the older generations, which adapt slowly if at all. And that's the problem with the industry nowdays.

Our forum, videohelp, is a technology forum. 10 years ago, when it started, I was here. It was full of young people, from all over the world. Today it is dominated by middle age people, mostly from English speaking countries. Exactly like the industry: 10 years ago, the young people adapted PCs, DVDs, DVB broadcasts, etc. Today, the same middle age (now) people, are called to adapt the "new technology". Those things are not easy.

Where are the new people? Probably in their parents basements. With their mind far away any technology related.

I visited west Europe (Holland, Germany, England) and east Europe (Poland, Romania, Bulgaria) a lot the last 3 years, and I saw many stoned and drunk young people. My country (Greece) follows close. I don't think they gonna be technology consumers anytime soon....
    LOL

Very funny yet sad and (somewhat) true.

I'm middle aged I guess (36) and I was a "slow" starter if you will. It took me forever to get through college due to taking a "light load" of classes and taking semesters off here or there etc. so really I'm more along the path of someone that is a few years younger had they done college in 4 years right out of high school (whereas I didn't graduate until I was 27).

    Anyway ...

I went to college. I graduated. I went to work. I make "so little" money that after paying for rent and utilities and food and cigarettes (yeah I know bad habit and expensive) that I barely have money left for anything else and everyone I know that is around my age (most are slightly younger but not by much) are in the same boat. We all make (barely) enough money to pay the bills and anything we have of "worth" to US ... like our big screen HDTV or Playstation 3 or computer etc. ... most of that is only here due to mom/dad buying it for us as a birthday present or christmas present etc. because we make no money. In fact I am the ONLY person out of my close circle of friends that has an HDTV. I have at least 2 die hard movie buff fans that probably would have an HDTV and Blu-Ray if they had the money for it.

We aren't "bums". We all (mostly) went to college. We all work 40 hours a week (some more). We just get paid shit because that is how things are now for the vast majority of jobs.

It's really freakin' sad but hey that's where the drugs and booze come in

Actually Xylob the Destroyer, I'm 35 and I already own 2 houses myself, currently building a third one, and I don't wish to mention the rest I'm currently doing in my life. You have the half things I got and I bet you won't have a chance in Balkans.

Your Western John Wayne - like attitude, with the excellent use of phrases like "Life is a bitch", "get use to it", "If I can do it, everyone can", etc, it's a great explanation of why the next war gonna be between generations and not between the rich and the poor.
Also explains the isolation of some people, that are unable to understand what goes on around them.

When a Kid come close to you and shoot you, start telling him while bleeding, about your wild teens and the rest you posted to answer me. And since you have for granted that what you earned in life remains yours forever, better stay local, in your wonderful country which the boarders never change and it has remain the same the last centuries or so...

Basicly, I can only say to you, what Butthead said to Beavis a decade ago: "Look Beavis, Old people, huh huh huh"

On topic now, bring back the cassette tapes for data loading for ZX Spectrum 16K!!!

You seem to have mistaken my statements of fact for bragging. I've worked hard for what I have, and I deserve to be proud of that.
I didn't say I was livin' large in a mansion with Cadilac Escalades. I have a modest house and 2 well maintained vehicles that are both over 10 years old.

I've busted my "lazy American" ass for over a decade working 2 and sometimes 3 jobs at a time to get what I have. You wanna take it from me, no matter who the **** you (think) you are, you can bet your sweet ass you'll have a fight on your hands buddy.
If you don't have the balls to stand up for yourself, you don't deserve what you have anyway.

Xylob the Destroyer, you are obviously don't understand the basics...

    You say:

OK... My answer: Be a proud Serb, work for a decade 2 and 3 jobs to got what you have and weak up one day, in your home town, in Albanian Kosova...
    Yeah, sure, fight now... Superman...

(I'm not a Serb, that is an example)

I don't bet my sweet ass on you Xylob the Destroyer. No way...

I wrote it already, you didn't got it: Stay local, in your wonderful country, that the boarders never change.

Can do. If it were shitty here, I'd do what I needed to make it better or fail and go where it was better.
    That's the basics.
I wouldn't expect anybody else to give a flying **** about my problems and fix them for me.

    I understand them quite well.

Sorry to disappoint stiltman, I'm done with this shit.

Wow. Your comment makes absolutely no sense.
    Congratulations!
I speak of being realistic and taking care of your own damned problems instead of expecting others to solve your problems for you.
    I live what I "preach".

You bring Santa Claus and fantasy into it.
Your logic is seriously flawed. Must be the lack of oxygen on the lunar atmosphere.
