  1. Hello,

I am trying to convert an AVI file (Vanilla Sky) to MPG to create a VCD, I have tried TMPGEnc but can't get this to work. Version 2.02 zips along for about 3000 frames then slows up big time, I left it running (30 Hours it took) but when I played the resulting MPG file the video was fine but the audio stopped at exactly the point it slowed up. I also tried version 1.2a, this freezes after about 10% of the file is created, playing what has been created has both video and audio. Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks
    Scott

First I would like to say I am new and I have posted this all over so you'll see this is my answer for everthing haha.

All kidding aside you might have some bad spots in the avi and may need to fix the file first then encode.

Most of my problems from avi files have been errors on a frame or two.

try divxfix or avidefreeze(divxdefreeze) located in the tools section it has a great tutorial and is easy to use.
