I already have a large collection of ripped DVDs, that have been burnt as 4.7 gig DVDs, I need to now convert these dvd's to some single file for putting on a HDD for on demand viewing. What is the best/fastest way to get them. I would prefer not to have to re-rip them to the hdd before conversion. being as they do not need to be decrypted again. I want to go directly from DVD to some video say, avi, mkv ect.
Thank you.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

You can try using AutoGK directly from the DVD drive, but you probably find it is faster to copy to the HDD and then encode from there. This also gives you the advantage of being able to set up a batch and encode several overnight. If you want to go down the mkv/H264 path then have a look at Xvid4PSP.
