iv imported some video that used to be divx but we changed it to avi.
when i render it the picture works fine but the audio doesnt play at all. all of the other audio in my project works perfectly except for these type of files.
see how in this picture http://www.harmony-central.com/articles/reviews/sony_vegas/fig1.gif down the bottom the audio track has two lines of audio on top of eachother - kinda looks like its mirrored. anyway, the audio that doesnt work has two lines, on the bottom line is the audo which u can see the waves, but the top line is just a flat line - ie there doesnt seem to be any audio there. is this the problem?
any ideas on what i can do to fix this?

Vegas doesn't like VBR MP3 audio. Chances are your Divx video has this. Vegas is not designed to edit video that hs been compressed using end viewing compression such as Divx and Xvid. While it can be forced to, the results are usually less than desirable. Convert your video to an editable format such as DV avi and you wont have these problems.
