  1. I don't know what i did but i don't have the option anymore to save an mpeg2(dvd compliant) to a VOB container.

I had VideoRedo 3 and now i got Videoredo tv suite maybe it's the reason but as far as i can remember the first time i tried this new version (1 month ago), it was just fine.

I don't find any particular option to cure this.

Someone enlighten me it's a headache for me right now.

    Hi, TheMaster1,

The VRD support folks have had this question asked on their forums, and gave an answer. Here is a link to the thread.

  4. Firstly, the .VOB save format in VRD was NEVER DVD compliant (well, not in the way I suspect you mean i.e. the same as if it had been authored ready to be burnt to DVD).

Secondly, as this is a VideoRedo issue and VideoRedo has an excellent forum of it's own that is frequented by the authors, wouldn't it be better to be having this discussion there?

  5. Well firstly, i'm lazy i'm so i'll stick around here for a solution rather than signing up there and alternatively getting spam in my mailbox.

Secondly, my mpeg is already dvd compliant (though, it is muxed) as mentioned in my initial post.

By the way i do not intend to burn that on dvd (well maybe one day actually... who knows), i just need to put it in a Vob container with this software.

You need to open VideoReDo go to the tools tab select options (hit the shift key at the same time) this will add a hidden list in the options column manual parameter settings.
    Open manual parameter settings
5 Allow VOB output file type set this to true and your problem should be solved.

Firstly, you don't have to sign up to search and read the VideoRedo forum!

Secondly, most people who wonder where the 'save as .vob' option went apparently assume that all they have to do to make a video DVD is burn those .vob files to a disk and stick it in their player - obviously you're not one of those and I apologise for making that assumption.

BTW, if you're not burning to DVD, why do you need to have a file in a wrongly named .vob file? I thought the only reason to have the .vob format in VideoRedo was so that you could author the files in one of the free DVD authoring packages. Just curious.
