Well, I finally picked up a box (the cheap RCA Wal-Mart special... bleah). Thing is, on the TV I'm using it with, the antenna can only get a 60-70 percent signal, at best (and that's rare).
I know I don't have the greatest powered antenna, but it was enough to pick up all but two of the UHF stations I wanted to watch. Are there any verified good ways to boost the antenna's signal, without buying a new antenna?
I'll go out and buy a new antenna if I really have to... maybe even that $80 one at Best Buy that was supposed to pick up everything...Hmm. Maybe I should go and buy some aluminum foil...
(Side question: I know it's most likely a Really Bad Idea, but... we're also using DirecTV in the house, and I was wondering what would happen if, for the converter box's antenna connection, I ran a cable to the wall antenna connector. (No, I'm NOT asking if it'll pick up the DirecTV signal. I wondered if maybe it could use something in the house hookup as a better antenna than the one connected to the TV. For all I know, it'd fry the converter box. :/ )
