Hi, apologies if this has been asked / answered but i have tried searching without success.

I wish to convert analog V8 tapes to digital, so purchased a Sony TRV-740E handycam c/w firewire cable and connected to my PC. I set the player for DV pass thru and used MM2 to capture the tape contents to the HDD of my PC in AVI format. Everything works ok EXCEPT when i play back the captured content there is a thin (~1mm) moving line at the bottom of the screen. I have tried capturing the tape in various format with no improvement. The tape player is in excellent condition and has just been serviced by Sony. I have the same issue with all tapes tried so far. A 90min tape is approx 18GB in size
My PC is an Intel 2.4 GH core 2 with 1 GB RAM, 10kRPM 140GB HDD (60% free), Nvidia 7600 GPU c/w 256MB VRAM, WIN XP SP2

    Any help/advice/links welcome.
    Thanks in advance

All normal. The head switch line exists on all Video8, Hi8 and VHS. It's usually hidden by TV overscan. Some overlay a mask to hide it.
