Question about IMAX footage being cropped for regular theatre screens

I read in one of the reviews, that the 30 minutes of footage that was shot in IMAX had to be chopped/cropped to fit the regualr size theatre screens?

1)Can anybody confirm if the cropped footage makes a big difference since regular screen movie goers will not see the whole picture?

2) Oh and for those of you that saw it in IMAX- did you dizzy? and how did the scenes not shot in IMAX look?

I mean IMAX is great, its just that I already bought Cinemark tickets from Costco.

It's always better to see the movie the the way it was filmed. Will it make a difference? Yes. Will it make a big difference? Depends on what was cut out.

They would have planned the shoot so the 2.35 to 1 crop worked for the general audience. The IMAX version would be more emersive with added material on all four sides plus greater resolution for the close in IMAX viewing position.
