I have a wedding video spread over 3 DVD's that I'd like to condense down into 1 after some massive editing. What software can I use so that I can rip the DVD content and have it put in a format that's editable at FULL QUALITY in iMovie? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

DVDFab HD is nice to rip with...
I'm guessing imovie is proprietary Apple and you'd have to buy their software to do it

Get Apple's MPEG2 codec ($20 and downloadable from their store) and MPEG Streamclip (free). Once the codec is installed, Drop the first VOB of the movie onto MPEG Streamclip. When asked if you want to open this as a stream, say yes. Export to DV. Drop that file into iMovie.

The MPEG2 codec may be bought here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D2187Z/A?fnode=home/shop_mac/software/apple&mco=MTA4MDE0

Note: This is NOT QT Pro; you do not need QT Pro in order to accomplish what you wish.

There may be other software that will do this without the MPEG2 codec from Apple but this is certainly the easiest. (Besides, MPEG Streamclip will also go from the VOBs directly to MPEG4/H264, if you wish.)

    For DVD, iPad, HD, connected TV, … iMovie & FCPX? MovieConverter-Studio 3 (01/24/2015) - Handle your camcorder's videos? even in 60p or 60i? do a slow-motion? MovieCam.

You also can save some time by using the trim and cut feature in Streamclip to export just the scenes you want to bring into iMovie for further editing.
