    Hi !

I converted a RM file to an AVI one and it worked just fine. The problem is that the image is delayed by at least 10 seconds (sound comes 10 seconds before the image), which is not very funny. I used the mencoder firstly for mpeg4 encoding, and then tried with DivX encoding, but still the same problem.

Does anybody knows how to fix this issue ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

    Regards

    cedboe

If the sync error is truly a fixed time offset, instead of a drifting offset, you can demux and remux, while inserting an appropriate compensating delay.

To determine the precise value of the delay, you can use a tool such as VLC. Under its preferences is an option for varying the offset during playback. Try different values until you determine a correct value that works throughout the video. Accuracy is important, because an error of approximately 100ms is noticeable, and 200ms is intolerable.
