    Hi,

I'm getting familiar with the TS format through the TV records I'm doing with Media Portal and I have a few basic doubts about it:

    1) Which are the best ways to convert it to Xvid or mkv, in order the files not to take so many room. I would like also to include the DVB subtitles in the conversion.

    2) Is there are a software player that can read the dvb subtitles or any filter to apply to the usual players. Now I can see them through Media Portal, but I would like also to be able to see them externally.

    3) How can I edit the files? I installed ProjectX and it looks good, but for the moment I wasn't able to find the way to cut the ts files, and the guides I read were all but specific.

Well, maybe I've asked too many questions, but I would appreciate very much some help.

    Thank you in advance

Well, I did found a ProjectX guide and already know how to cut the stream, typing "a" and "d".

I also converted a TS with gordian knot. The problem now is with the subtitles. The resulting sup has a lot of colours and when I convert it to idx/sub with Subtitle Creator the titles can't be seen well on the XviD I made.

Is there no way to get rid of all this colors or at least to do a good conversion sup to idx?

    Thank you in advance.

Could you post a link to the guide you found? Thanks.

    This is the link http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/DigiTV/projectx.htm

It is announced in this very site, but at first I didn't realize that you have to go to a second link to get this one.
