Can 'project X' do it? If I add a .srt file to a .ts file , can 'project x' remux it to be 'DVB subtitle' format?

Almost nobody knows how to work with HDTV subtitles, so that's probably why you never got an answer. You could try asking on the forums at http://www.doom9.net, but right now public knowledge of HDTV subtitle formats is very scarce.

Not sure what an SRT file contains, but I assume you want to insert timecoded or framecoded subtitles as DVB bit maps into a DVB transport stream file? If so, look at Swift vTX at www.softel.co.uk or email sales@softel.co.uk

Why do you want to add subtitles to .ts file. I use Nero ShowTime to watch my recorded SD and HD movies with external subtitles. In Showtime options menu external subtitles must be enabled. Sometimes i have syncronisation problems. But then I use Subtitle Workshop to syncronisize them.
