    greetings i am looking for recommendations for a good laptop for my projects i work on. I do alot of video compressing, editing, etc. I am eventually going to get into video djing and some music production. Any and all help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

    Usually laptops aren't recommended for video work, but the newer ones are faster with bigger hard drives. For encoding, you need a fast CPU, the faster the better. Dual core CPUs will help, if for nothing else, multitasking. Lots and lots of hard drive space also.

    You should be able to use a external hard drive or two, at least for storage. Some laptops come with the options for two internal hard drives. That would help as the boot drive is accessed fairly often by the OS, and that can slow it down. It would be OK to use it for static storage, though.

    I have no specific brand or model recommendations, but others may. Dell comes to mind as one possibility, as they seem fairly configurable.
