  1. Help! My cd-rom will not read the VCD. I burnt the mpeg file with Nero 5.5. There is nothing wrong with the file when it is on my PC. After the burning process succeed, I tried to play the CD on the sand alone VCD player, it said no disc. CD-rom on PC cannot read the disc too. I followed exactly the procedure in the column to make the mpeg and burn. Could someone tell my why?

  2. R U sure that your player can read CDR's

Check the standards on this web site for your DVD player.

  3. As odd as that sounds...it happened to me last night. I burned the And1 Mixtape Vol. 4 and according to Nero (5.5) it burned successfully. So I tried to play it in my computer-nothing. I tried my DVD player-nothing. It never really burned. So I just reburned w/out any problems and all was good.

  5. Had faced the same problem, as I was burning the file into a rewritable CD , the same is not recognised by CD player.
Check if this is the problem

  6. I am in a similar situation. Burned 3 svds(s) w/nero5.5.

    1. memorex cdr encoded by TMPGEnc
    2. memorex cdr encoded by Pinnacle Studio 7
    3. hp cdrw encoded by Pinnacle Studio 7

All three play well on standalone pioneer dvd player.

None of them play on my cd-rom OR my hardware dvd player on my computer system. Unrecognized format.

My computer based dvd uses asusdvd software. (I notice there is a file in that folder named powerdvd.exe.) Opening both mpeg2 files via windows explorer opens wmp where they run smoothly.

Any ideas or references I could check?

    thanks,
    kristin
