Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum. Not sure the appropriate terms to use for search. Here's what our church wants to do. Not sure the best way to set this up and looking for advice. Here's what I am thinking, please correct or advise -
1. We are planning to use a PTZ Camera (e.g., Sony EVI-D100) to record church sermons. We will connect this via S-Video to a computer with the capability to capture the video and control the PTZ camera via a remote connection to the PTZ camera. We want to record the video.....and audio. We wish to publish a DVD as soon as the sermon is complete. We are planning to have a 1 to 4 DVD duplicator.
2. We want the video to play at the same time to an overhead projector and plasma monitor that are in different parts of the building. The computer will be connected to the projector and plasma monitor via SVGA thru a matrix switch and amplifier.
Questions -
1. Any issues with doing this or will we have a delay between capture and presentation to the other monitors?
2. Any software recommendations?
Thanks!
Thanks!

How are your capturing the video? I would see a place for a DVD recorder here and just burn directly to DVD disc. I'm assuming no editing is needed. Then duplication would be fairly easy. As far as the feed to a monitor, you may be able to split the video from the camera and feed that to the remote monitor along with the DVR feed.
But others may have better ideas.
And welcome to our forums. -
Is there a reason why the video must pass through the computer live?
There will be a quality drop going from S-Video to SVGA 800x600 and maybe an audio/video delay enough to affect lip sync or produce PA echo.
One option is to split video after the camera and distribute as S-Video + audio to the monitors and capture devices.

The feed could pass through an S-Video matrix router so you could switch between live camera, the computer or VCR/DVD playback devices to the monitors.
A computer capture/playback option is the Hauppauge PVR-350 that has an output MPeg2 decoder to S-Video as well as an MPeg2 encoder at the S-Video input.

DVD Recording could be done by the computer or live to DVD recorders as suggested by redwudz.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
