    I installed a phenom 9550 processor today, everything is up and running fine, but the temp at idle is 56c - 58c, while encoding 63c - 65c,. Stock heatsink/fan.

    Is my processor running hot ?? What is optimal temps for a AMD quad ?

    Your cpu temp seems high perhaps you need to reset the cpu and heatsink fan. According to AMD specs the max temp is 70c.

    After alot of research the Asus M3A mobo bios gives incorrect readings on the cpu temps. An Asus M3A user, changed mobo, same processor, issue solved.

    Common issue with the Phenom processors and Asus M3A mobo.
