I heard that if you use two of these to connect to the internet it would boost up the connection efficiency or w/e. is this true or is it a hoax kinda thing?

Not enough info to give a proper answer.

You can add a second internet adapter and sometimes increase your internet bandwidth, but your ISP would have to agree to that. They will probably suggest you buy a second connection. So the general answer is, probably not, unless you add a second connection.

What type of connection do you presently have? Cable? DSL? Dialup? Most times if your connection is operating properly, that's as good as it gets. If you want more speed, then you will generally have to upgrade your connection through your ISP. Or find a faster ISP.

  4. All you are dealing with is an antenna. Different antennas work differently in different situations.

If you are asking about using two wifi adapters at the same time, then NO.

If you are asking will one be better than the other, then almost certainly.

If you are asking will a USB adapter be better than an internal PCI, then maybe.

Experience with multiple installations and many low-signal problems tells me that antenna orientation is the most important factor. The USB adapter, more importantly combined with a USB extension cable, allows for trying multiple positions. Extension cables for the antenna itself are more expensive and hard to find. signal loss occurs down the length of the cable. For the USB adapter, the antenna is inside the adapter, the signal is already converted to data and so avoids loss on the USB cable.

A USB adapter on a cable, combined with some tinfoil in a dish shape, blew a $40 antenna plus PCI card into the weeds.

A cheap way to extend wifi range using a kitchen strainer as a parabloic reflector. Some have tuned these for miles of range. It needs to be pointed at the wireless router.

Better yet Chinese parabolic fry strainer.

Same principle. You focus the beam for longer distance. If you focus too tight pointing becomes difficult.
