Hey i use GUI for authoring, but i have ISO files and want to create menu etc...how do i do this?

Do i have to convert the ISO to a Video TS/VOB folder or something?

I havent used this prog for a while but i remember it was pretty easy if anyone could help id really appreciate it.

Could i somehow rip the video ts/VOB folder from the dvd then use the contents in GUI Author to make menus then reburn/make ISO? Or can i somehow use the ISO file in GUI?

At the moment the ISO just doenst show up when i go to the folder in GUI Author.

Before i used to use video files (avi) with DVD Flick to make a DVD folder, then use those files in GUI to make the ISO, then burn with imgburn, thats if i remember correctly.

But now i have the ISO ripped off the DVD and want to make a menu and reburn.

    Thanks

You should be able to open your iso in DGIndex > "save project and demux video" with "demux audio" enabled, you'll have a usable m2v and ac3 that GFDVDA or DVDAuthor Gui will accept......try it!
What do you have to lose ,but time....

I used ISObuster to make a video ts folder from the ISO, then i merged the VOBs with VOBmerger, Used GUIAuthor, burnt the ISO from GUIAuthor, and it seemed okay but its not working right, its playing but messed up in sound & speed.

Whats a good author apart from DVDAuthor GUI? It comes up with an error message at the point i drag the vob onto GUI so my best best is using another author, or maybe using DGIndex like you suggest....

In GUI after using DGIndex to get an m2v, when i drag it across it says "no sequenz header found", so i guess i need to use another author? Any suggestions?

    Thanks...

Well since you have one large VOB, open that with DGindex and do the steps I posted...
DVDAuthorGui ,is a pretty good free tool, however if you want something more elaborate then you'll have to spend some bucks.....BTW, you could also open ISO with DVDShrink by clicking Ctrl + I
The reason I mention Shrink is just to see if it'll open and analyze w/o errors...

GUI Doesnt like the VOBs from DVD shrink/ISObuster, or the m2v demux from DGIndex.

I really think i need a different author as the error messages only come up when i drag to GUI, all i want to do is add one main screen menu, & a main title.

Thanks for the help man, im gonna hit the hay hopefully ill wake up to an answer

After creating the ISO with imgburn, then creating one VOB with DVD Shrink, then creating m2v with DGIndex, i then Authored with GUI & now burning with imgburn and it seems fine so far...i leave the d2v track out right?

For some reason when i extract the ISO with DGIndex, GUI doesnt like the m2v, but when i extract the ISO into one VOB with DVDShrink, then extract into m2v with Index it works in GUI, i dont get why it needs to go to VOB before it goes to m2v but it works so cool! Its also weird how the VOB's from ISObuster didnt work with DGIndex/GUI aswell, but the one from Shrink is ok?

    Thanks man its lookin good

    Peace

    Right!
    > when i extract the ISO with DGIndex...
Probably DGindex is not made to read ISO files. If it creates a m2v without a sequence header, this m2v is not valid (it may be played by 'forgiving' players like VLC or MPC, but it's not suitable for authoring)
And as it seems, DVDShrink is the better 'VOBmerger'. I use it myself for this purpose. Usually the VOB files from DVDShrink can be used without demux, but unfortunately not always.
