Reboot into safe mode. Find a restore point that is prior to your Infection day and go for it.
This is the reason restore points were introduced in the first place.
May not work in each and every case, but that is the first thing you should have tried. I know it worked for me. Good luck.
You were lucky, Much of the Malware will disable System restore.

If you have no problem except when trying to browse and you do not want to format and reinstall OS etc, switch to a different browser such as firefox3 and make it your default browser. In the old days when DivX used to come with adware, ii did not mind it because it did not affect me. I was using Mozilla and not IE

Listen or not, it's no big deal to me. When a system is as seriously affected by malware as yours is, it's futile to try to "clean" it with scans. You need to reformat and reinstall Windows. Some of the malware digs in real deep and is able to reinfect a system. Another problem is that some of these malware programs alter system .dll's and other components. So it isn't just a matter of removing the malware. When this occurs, your OS has been damaged and it takes more than just removing the malware to fix your system.

  4. It takes a little work, and some research, and some persistance. ONE scan, ONE fix will simply not do it.

Windows explorer, C:\windows\temp, c:\documents and settings, username(do all), local settings, temp.

Now if you come back and say you can't find local settings, just give up and re-format.

They can all be removed, ain't seen one yet that can't. Personally, re-installing all my apps is not such a joyful thing.
