Hi new to this
When transfering dv from my video camera I have always used my D drive for storage, one day I had a message from the pinnacle program I was using "not capable of capturing dv data" showing a speed of "Read 1270 and Write 65767"
When I checked the C drive it showed Read 25661 and Write 27472, the easy solution would be use the C drive but....
Hard drives are
C WD 40Gb hardware profile DMA 5
D Samsung 250Gb Hardware profile DMA 6
What needs to be done to put my D drive back to work?

it's possible the drive is dying. first download the hard drive testing tools from samsung and use them to thoroughly check the hard drive. sometimes when windows senses a malfunctioning/dying drive it will change it from dma mode to pio mode. if it checks out ok then you will need to go into computer properties - hardware and find that drive on the ide channel and change it's setting from pio to dma. if there is anything that needs to be backed up on it this would probably be a good time to get it done.
