I'd like to encode a collection of 13 MKV files (with their built-in, not external, subtitles) over to a number of VOB files for burning to DVD(s). I've looked at a number of different options for converters/encoders (ffmpegx, Quicktime Pro, Toast, VisualHub), but it seems that there are different ways to approach this. Looking around, I found out that you can use mkvextract (from MKVToolnix) to extract the video, audio, and subtitle tracks and to convert the video there and mux the resulting format with the audio and author in the subtitles later, while I've also seen methods which just involve converting the MKV straight out. What's the best way to approach this?

Here's the identify information for one of the MKV files I'm looking at (they're all the same type of encode):

    Code:
    container: Matroska
    Track ID 1: video (V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC)
    Track ID 2: audio (A_VORBIS)
    Track ID 3: subtitles (S_TEXT/ASS)
    Thanks!
