I want to remove silence from large WMV files. (4 GB approx)
The only reason it's a WMV is because it has 1 slide that shows while the audio is playing.
I can open the WMV files in Sound Forge and see the silent parts. But if I try to highlight and remove the silence it hangs forever cause the file is so large. (This is on a p4 2.4 GHz system with 1 GB RAM) After 30mins I gave up. Maybe I need a command line tool

Windows Movie Maker? But I guess it will reconvert the audio. Or try use a wmv editor like movica, asfbin, etc.

Movie Maker import error: x.wmv is not indexed and cannot be imported.
I'm guessing the file size is too large. I've used asfbin before, but it doesn't seem to have a silence remover. It's a great chopper though.

Auto Trim/Crop works good in Sound Forge. But the saving afterwards takes way too long. It takes about an hour. I'd have alot more options if I converted this to a wav file... but then I have to wait for the save again. I need a quick way to remove the silence.... batch if possible.
