I have captured all of my dv tapes with moviemaker using scenedetection. So now I have lots of .wmv files. The filenames show the capturedate. To know when the movie was taken I have to open it in Moviemaker. Not a problem, but I want to mix these DVmovies with other movies which are in .mov format. Moviemaker doesn't import them. So I decided to go on with Pinnacle Studio which can import both. But for the .wmv files, Pinnacle does not show the dates when the movie was taken. Is there a way to extract that information out of the .wmv? Or do I have to rename all these files? Hope not, it's quit a lot...
Ofcourse, alternative would be to recapture all the tapes in Pinnacle, but this will cost me 4 days I think. Hope there's an easier solution. Any help would be appreciated!
thanks,
Ans

o great, just discovered Pinnacle can't handle .mov files either. What program can handle both?

Seems Adobe Premiere Elements can do read wmv and mov. Have to find out if it can read the date-time code embedded in the wmv. I'm afraid this is impossible. Wish I hadn't been so quickly with the capturing stuff in Windows Moviemaker. Lots of work but not a diasaster, still have all the tapes ..
