graphic quality differences

Hey guys,

so i've resolved my last issue and have figured out several ways i'll be able to hook my PC to my TV as a primary monitor. My next question is which method to use. With the graphics card i'll be using I can easily use an s-video cable. I could also run the graphics out of the VGA, through a converter box and into the component video pins on the TV. I've heard the quality of the s-video connection isn't the greatest and was wondering if the 2nd method (VGA to component) gives a better picture. I don't want to run out and buy a converter box if it will give me the same quality as the s-video

It's a flat screen tube TV (sylvania ssgf4276) with s-video and component video connectors

The video card is an ATI radeon HD 2400 pro that has s-video, VGA and DVI outputs

I dont know which converter box i would get yet, i would decide once i determine which connection would get me the best picture. If converting VGA to component gives a better picture than s-video then i will buy a converter box. If there's no difference, i won't buy one.

So this is a standard def CRT TV?

Unless your ATI HD 2400 TV out connector has only 4 pins, it probably supports analog component with the proper cable. Call the card maker and see if they supply the cable. Otherwise use an S-Video cable on the same connector.
