ok so Ive read a bit about this subject now its time to get your ideas..

my lappy has VGA output and 4 pin S-video

    my TV has

    4 pin S-video
    scart
    1 HDMI
    and all the usual RCA'S

what will be the best combination for joining these together.

I already have an audio cable from the lappy to the red/white RCA'S

I read that 4 pin S-video wont work?

    thanks

I use the S-video out on my laptop to the S-video in on my TV....You need to make a setting change in the Control panel, For the Display area...Good Luck

    got it going two ways

first i used th s-video cable and the headphone jack to rcsa cable
switched the lappy over to tv mode and it worked great

second i used an s-video cable to rca and the headphone jack to rcsa cable
    and this worked great too

tryed it both on my LCD and the old analog Tvs.

It even managed to stream dvds on to the TV's though the wireless network
    with out any problems

thanks hope this helps some one else
