I have a number of interlaced eyetv recordings that I would like to transfer to DVD. When I use Visual Hub to create a DVD from from the interlaced source, I am getting interlace motion blurring on playaback. The DVD player (an internal Toshiba slot load which is part of my HDTV) does not seem to play the DVD in progressive mode. No problem with commercial DVDs. I know I could check "deinterlace" when I process the files but I don't think this should be necessary for a DVD, since DVDs normally contain interlaced video.

I tried ffmpegX using ffmpeg as the encoder with the same result. However, when I tried using the mpeg2enc setting in ffmpegX, the DVD played fine.

Any ideas on how to make it work with Visual Hub without deinterlaceing? Maybe there needs to be some kind of flag set? Something else?

I would consider using ffmpegx instead, but I haven't been able to figure out how to throw multiple episodes on to a DVD using ffmpegx and or encode for dual layer DVDs, etc.

These ffmpeg flags did the trick:

    -ildct -ilme
