I have a video that is over 2 hours and 6.51 GB and as a .mkv plays perfectly on my computer without a problem. I've been trying to convert it to an .mpg so I can stream it onto my PS3 but whenever I try muxing the video it only makes it about halfway(3.72GB) then comes up with this error:

Matroska parse error: Invalid EBML number size tag 15 at pos 5963006249

(this error is from tsmuxergui; mkv2vob would only mux the same amount then say complete without any errors.)

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Here is the tsmuxergui output:

    SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.8.4(b) http://www.smlabs.net
    Decoding H264 stream (track 1): Profile: High@5.1 Resolution: 1280:528p Frame rate: 23.976
H.264 muxing fps not set. Get fps from stream.
H264 bitstream changed: insert nal unit delimiters
H264 bitstream changed: insert pict timing and buffering period SEI units
    Decoding AC3 stream (track 2): Bitrate: 640Kbps Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6
B-pyramid level 1 detected. Shift DTS to 2 frames
H264 bitstream changed: insert SPS/PPS units

If you need any more information to answer my question just ask. Thanks.

Did you try processing with just mkv2vob and saving as .mpg or .vob?
Do you have file split to none in mkv2vob or ?
Anyway in tsMuxeR did you "change Level 5.1 to 4.1 ?.....

I've been trying alot of different thing I was trying right now to mux into .vob.

What do you mean by processing? I tried forcing transcode and it made it to 5.71 GB after muxing but still not the whole video.

MKV2VOB will transcode file automatically if needed....
By processing I mean did you "use" or open in, or run it by, convert if you will, you know just a figure of speech is all.....The proggy( in this case mkv2vob), is processing it........I guess I'll stop using the word....
In configuration set "file split " to none....see if that helps...

Ok I will try that next; ok I changed it to 4.1 and saved as .mt2s but its still doing the same. It works till 53.9% then the number freezes and sits there and jumps to 71.9% and come up with this error:

Matroska parse error: Invalid EBML number size tag 15 at pos 5963006249

I guess the best idea would be to find another copy of the file from a different source. Thanks anyway!

BTW would it being x264 have anything to do with it?

  8. I know this is a bit late, but I had the same problem and managed to solve it.
I used mkvmergeGUI to recreate the mkv using the *broken* mkv as the source. Interestingly the size of my MKV dropped from 4.5Gb to 1.6Gb with no apparent loss in quality. I was then able to use TSMuxerGUI to create a BluRay disk structure with no problems.

Might be handy for anyone else who comes up against this error.

It shrunk the size to 1.6G cutting the remaining: You now have a good Incomplete movie ...

This error has recently appeared in almost every mkv I've come across
