Hello,

I'm new to these forums but have already found a lot of useful info on here! I'm sorry if this issue has been covered elsewhere but I've just started having a strange problem with APPCS3.

What I really need is for some kind person to tell me what the 'default' settings are for export to movie. I have been using this option with no problems to quickly view a recent short film I have made on my TV. I play the file on my PC and watch it through s-video on my TV. The aspect ratio has always been fine in the default settings. I don't think I changed a thing, I just exported to 'movie' the first time as an experiment, it looked fine, so I didn't change anything.

The problem arose when I burned a copy to DVD a few days ago, I don't recall which settings I changed, but I *think* I changed a setting or two somewhere along the way to try to make sure everything was properly formatted to 'DVD standard'. However, when I watched the DVD back, it came up with large black bars on the top, bottom AND the sides?? I was able to re-adjust the settings to get the file to play properly as a 'DVD' style format and to burn correctly.

The weird part is that since burning the DVD, whenever I try to 'export' my film as a 'movie' to view on my TV, it still has the weird side bars! I have now tried MANY different combinations of settings and at best I get the side black bars and at worst I get them at the top and bottom as well. As mentioned previously, it has always worked fine before the DVD burning so I'm certain I have just somehow changed a setting I wasn't supposed to. I thought I'd be able to try a few options and fix it myself but I've been at it for several hours now and I just KEEP getting these damn side bars when exporting to movie.

Anyway, it's just a PAL High Def. project but as mentioned previously it always ran fine until yesterday so I'm sure my 'general settings' are fine and it's just a matter of changing 'something' (?) in the export movie 'settings' menu. I've googled for the original settings online, but can't find anything helpful. So, in a nutshell I would be REALLY grateful if anyone could post the full 'default' settings for PPCS3 export to movie menu, it's bugging the heck out of me! Thanks for your time.

PS When I previously exported to movie, the file would be produced very quickly, (which was great!) however since I have been recently experimenting with the settings, sometimes the file compiles at a VERY slow rate. At times it can take a minute to do about 1%! Before it was doing the whole film a LOT faster. Does anyone know the reason for this? I guess what I'm asking is what settings should I stay away from, and which are best to compile the film at the usual speedy rate? Again, any help greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
