I have some questions about Quenc settings, as I am trying to make a front-end batch application for it. Some of the questions may just be basic video encoding questions. I have looked at the Quenc_settings.txt that comes with it and my questions are based off of it.
1) As far as video encoding, I believe that you cannot encode a video with Bottom Field and Top Field set at the same time. The question is, does it have to be one or the other?
2) I am trying to figure out how to handle the Mux Profile argument. Currently you have 3 types (mpeg2,mpeg1,mpeg4) and those breakdown further to give you more options (noaudio, separate etc etc). Since it seems that you cannot specify a video codec (output), it seems like the Quenc Gui itself determines which Mux options you will have based on the AVS file. Would the program be too limited if I only provided 1-3 options (noaudio, novideo, separate)? I know the mpeg4mux doesn't have the separate option, but I am not sure how this portion works.
Thanks
Edit: My question about the pulldown still stands, is there a way to figure out what is being passed?
Edit: I am also thinking about adding an existing application I wrote a while back that uses DGPulldown. Basically, it allows you to make a batch file of the MPEG-2 files you just rendered or the program itself will run DGPulldown for you (therefore you have more control) and you can make better use of multithreading. Of course, there would be no need if I can get the pulldown the Gui uses.

and if you can;t do pulldown, and you're mostly dealing with progressive 23.976
the above will cover you.
but it is limiting in other scenarios yes

@45Tripp, thanks for the feedback.
I looked at KuuEss's Batch Encoder for Quenc and they have a Pulldown checkbox, so I just wanted to put it to the forum again.
I downloaded the source code for Quenc, but it is too combersome and I haven't seen C++ in a while, so I will just skip it.
Edit: Also, thanks for the FFMpegSource tip, I am using that now for CCE and no crashes ever since. -

For now, I am going to assume the explanantion in the settings document for TFF only applies when Interlaced is set.
Thanks -
If interlaced is not checked, TFF/BFF is ignored.

Thanks gadgetguy.
My next question is regarding the QLB option. The documentation and the GUI is not very clear. I am going to assume that when you choose "QLB" that you don't necessarily have to choose Custom Matrix. But if you choose Custom Matrix, you are automatically choosing QLB.
