  1. I am trying to burn a DVD of a show saved on the memory of my flat screen TV. When I hook up the RCA cords from my DVD recorder I can get the audio but not the video. What connection am I missing?

Does the tv have any video OUTPUT connections? And you are connecting to the OUTPUT on the TV and not the INPUT.

And it might help if you told us the model of the tv and dvd recorder.

  3. No, I've attempted a couple of times so I'm sure I'm not hooking it up incorrectly. I also tried different video cords.

The TV is an LG Model #LB1DRA
The DVD Recorder is a Gateway

It has AV OUT and I guess you are connecting from it? See page 28 in the manual.

By "memory of my flat screen TV", I'm assuming you mean the DVR. I don't know if it is relevant or not in this case, but the notes under the AV Output diagram list all of the inputs that cannot be used for output...the same may apply to the DVR function, but I didn't spend a lot of time researching it.

Try recording from other inputs, such as regular TV channels and see if it then works for you. That would then eliminate your cables and setup as part of the problem. If it works, then your TV, DVD recorder, and cables are all good. If it still doesn't work, then you likely have a setup issue. Either you aren't using the correct inputs of the recorder or your aren't selecting the correct inputs on the recorder.
